Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is a place of great cultural importance; jointly cared for by the Anangu people and the Australian government since 1985. A must-see on your trip of central Australia and worth the 500 mile diversion we took to see it. Climbing the Ranger route to the summit of Snowdon in January was an experience we’ll never forget; and one everyone should try out! The Tongariro Alpine Crossing: Northern Circuit

The Tongariro Alpine Circuit is a walk that is popular for travellers due to the fact that it can be done in a day (just about - it’s 19km), you can see some of the best sights on the trail and fairly quickly. We hiked the Tongariro Northern Circuit, which is an extended trail walk and covers 46km. Essentially, the alpine crossing is the middle section of the walk we did.
